Audra Morrice

Chef | Author | Television Presenter

I originally graduated with a degree in Economics and Japanese, and began my career in telecommunications. But my true passion has always been food, and I eventually made the leap to follow that calling. My journey in the culinary world began when I became a finalist on MasterChef Australia in 2012. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of co-hosting and judging MasterChef Asia in 2015, and I’m currently one of the three judges on MasterChef Singapore, now in its fourth season. I’ve also appeared as a guest judge on MasterChef Poland.

I host my own cooking series, Tasty Conversations, which airs on SBS Food Network and Channel 10 in Australia, as well as across Asia on fyi, Mediacorp in Singapore, and online via YouTube and audramorrice.com.au. My cookbooks, My Kitchen, Your Table and Cook & Feast, are available in leading bookstores and online. I also create seasonal and bespoke food products for my clients.

I run a thriving catering business for private clients in both Sydney and Singapore, and I’ve had the honour of headlining numerous corporate dining events for clients such as Lexus, Adyen, St George, Westpac, AAPT, Nextgen, Optus, McKinsey, Eskimo, Quantcast, Young & Rubicam Group, Exetel, Entrepreneurs’ Organisation, Bingo Industries, and Woollahra Council. I also conduct cooking classes and bespoke corporate programs in both cities.

In 2016, I was the MC, host, and chef for MasterChef Dining & Bar at the Intercontinental Singapore. I’ve hosted a number of dining events in Singapore, including A Culinary Evening with Audra Morrice at The Singapore Marriott Tangs Plaza in 2017. In 2018, I collaborated with New Ubin Seafood Restaurant at CHIJMES as part of the World Gourmet Summit. I’ve also had the pleasure of collaborating with Malcolm Lee at his Michelin-starred restaurant, Candlenut, in October 2018 and again in March 2023—both events were sold out and received rave reviews.

In 2017, I was invited to speak at the Web In Travel conference in Singapore, which led to a collaboration with Accor Plus. Together, we created a personally guided food and cultural experience of Singapore, taking guests off the beaten path to explore my favourite food haunts.

From 2021 to 2023, I served as the Sustainable Gastronomic Tourism Ambassador for the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), a not-for-profit organisation that promotes responsible tourism in the Asia Pacific region. Through this role, I’ve worked with various tourism boards in both consulting and promotional capacities, and I’ve spoken at several PATA Destination Experience Forum & Mart conferences to audiences from government, private enterprise, and academia.

With a deep passion for gastronomy and cultural heritage, I consulted for the Sarawak Tourism Board in 2024 and created a six-part television series exploring Sarawak’s rich culinary traditions through its people, culture, and community. This series will air in May and July 2025 on SBS in Australia and across Asia and international markets. My vision is to create impactful, meaningful, and educational content that resonates with both audiences and communities.

In 2023, I was honoured to be invited by the Australian Foreign Minister to join the Australia-ASEAN Council Board. Our mission is to strengthen Australia’s engagement with the region by fostering cultural understanding, cooperation, and connections with ASEAN member countries. In March 2024, I represented the board as a mentor for both the young start-up social enterprise program and the 50th anniversary Emerging Leaders program. I also joined the advisory board of the newly established ASEAN-Australia Centre, alongside professionals from diverse sectors.

Mentoring is something I’m deeply passionate about. I’ve mentored young chefs and entrepreneurs, and I’ve spoken at numerous schools. In 2024, I conducted a session with students at the School of Tourism and Hospitality in Vientiane, Lao PDR, and previously participated in the Australia NOW program at The Temasek Culinary Institute in Singapore. I’ve also run training sessions for the Australian High Commission in Nepal, helping local hospitality chefs master classic Australian dishes.

I’ve worked closely with the Department of Foreign Affairs across Asia, using food as a cultural bridge and speaking about the importance of culinary connections. I was also the creative food consultant for Laguna Phuket, where I helped launch the first Laguna Phuket Food and Music Festival - an event that received high praise from the Governor of Phuket and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

My consulting work has extended to cafes and restaurants in Sydney and private resorts like Batu Batu Resort in Malaysia, where I’ve focused on menu creation, staff training, and operational improvements to support sustainable practices. Most recently, I served as the Culinary Food Consultant at The Fullerton Hotel Sydney, where I trained chefs in authentic Singaporean cuisine and created signature events and dishes for their annual Best of Both Worlds series, celebrated in both Singapore and Sydney each October.

As an Ambassador with the Singapore Tourism Board, I’ve participated in several campaigns including Get Lost and Find the Real Singapore and Celebrity Concierge, alongside Tetsuya Wakuda, Antonia Kidman, and Tom Williams. I continue to work closely with the board to promote Singapore’s rich culture and cuisine.

With roots in both Singapore and Sarawak, Malaysia, I was honoured to be invited as a Patron of the Australian Malaysian Singaporean Association. Over the years, I’ve spoken at and curated menus for their annual events. I’ve also collaborated with Qantas and Destination NSW on the Sydneyporean campaign, showcasing some of Sydney’s best local food.

For over a decade, I’ve proudly supported the Nelune Foundation, founded by Nelune Rajapakse OAM and Anna Guillan AM, and I continue to donate dining experiences for their Annual Lilac Ball each September. Learn more
